How to Store Your GLP-1 Pen Safely

Storing your Mounjaro pen correctly helps keep your treatment safe, effective, and ready when you need it.

Before first use

Keep your pen refrigerated until you’re ready to start.

• Store at 2°C to 8°C
• Keep in the original packaging
• Ensure the expiry date is visible

Avoid:

• Fridge doors (temperature fluctuations)
• Storing near the freezer
• Freezing the pen
• Unstable or unreliable fridges

If your pen has been frozen, exposed to incorrect temperatures, or is past its expiry date, it should not be used.

After first use

Once opened, you can store your pen:

• In the fridge (2°C to 8°C), or
• At room temperature (below 30°C)

Always:

• Keep away from direct heat and sunlight
• Replace the cap after use
• Remove the needle before storing

Your pen must be discarded after 30 days or once all four doses have been used.

Travelling with your pen

• Use a cool bag in warm conditions
• Keep in original packaging
• Carry in hand luggage when flying
• If you are travelling by air, you should contact your airline in advance to confirm any requirements for carrying medication and needles. This ensures you have the correct documentation and avoids issues at security.



You can return an in-use pen to the fridge if it has not exceeded 30°C and is still within the 30-day window.
